With govt players dumped, the private tech smarties now have full freedom to insert whatever apps / scripts on any consumer’s devices with help of same sarkari + private agencies, and many fancy looking bugs / spies / viruses / apps gaining excuses for privacy abuse to organizations of all types and sizes, the great game of mass-surveillance is starting to thrive now. The cold war between the so called public-private partnership agencies (some PP aur P) for smart frauds vs the poor citizens and the sucked ethical SME firms is mostly over.
The politically cherished companies are now openly and daringly experimenting over Internet
and inserting whatever stuff can increase an app’s ROI, even premier spy agencies jumped into petty propaganda to stalk govt critics and please its bosses (NOT really to secure citizens but mostly to put them in harms way). By the way, these abuses of political power are NOT showcase of any great technology, solution or innovation, but just backdoor loot jugaad. The sheer ability of such private profiteers (with inbuilt links in Govt agencies) to get access to public info / data with help of stink authorities is frightening.

New technologies have been characterized by explosive growth, and AI field continues to evolve rapidly. AI models are gaining new capabilities quickly and advancing in unexpected ways – agentic models capable of complex, autonomous work have now surpassed basic chatbot AI capabilities that were revolutionary a few years ago. These AI agents are now being deployed for all sorts of tasks, from workflow assistants for emails and scheduling (viz OpenClaw, etc) to AI targeting systems in warfare – including missiles, bots, jets, ships, drones and nukes!
Tremendous pace of AI development and innovation makes it difficult for democracy practitioners to anticipate future trends or offer enduring technical guidance, further motivating to establish a set of general first principles for AI adoption to help organic movements navigate the technical frontier as it evolves.
AI can scale or handle well-defined, labor-intensive tasks such as information collection, data cleaning, drafting, summarization, PPT and outreach logistics – rather than to make strategic decisions or determine overall direction. Already hiding behind AI & Star Wars stuff, anti-social folks are broadcasting ads forcefully, advertise richness of its breed, dope new kids and teens, genocide, spread rumors, kill opponents, legitimize fascist propaganda, divide communities to rule and much more… Though the apps owned by desperate advertising companies (masquerading as tech firms) is not the ONLY big problem. The kind of public corruption, data theft and illegal surveillance prevailing now-a-days, it is anyone’s guess what they are up-to, walking on a cliff, transgressing all moral boundaries for the empire and its elite gujju sponsors.
AI models can also be used for scenario planning. Key insight from civil resistance is that advance preparation helps movements succeed; pre-movement training helps activists craft strategy, maintain nonviolent discipline, and adapt creatively to changing circumstances. Trained AI models could help movements prepare by ingesting strategy documents and then posing hypothetical responses from authoritarian entities. Red teaming and other scenario exercises could help organizers consider tactical vulnerabilities or alternative action plans in advance, making them more resilient when they face inevitable hardships or setbacks. Yet excessive reliance on AI for such strategic decisions also poses real risks. More ominously, authoritarian opponents may already be using, or will soon use, similar tools to prepare countermeasures against democracy movements.
Few years back, some sellers and celebrities used to ask us can’t we appear on everyone’s computer forcibly (by hook or crook), the dreadful dream is coming to reality thanks to those cronies who’re daringly marching to colonize public network backbones with its app creativity dopes and bribery, while capitalist advertisers, political beneficiaries, private investors and agencies have reasons to re-cheer and en-cash, killing our cognitive power and social democracies.
Social movement is a network of people mobilized around a shared goal. Social movements are inherently political and grounded in relationships. Expanding, strengthening, and activating these relationships is the heart of organizing. By forging connections across differences and forging community ties, organizers establish the relational bedrock of people power. Along these lines, social movement experts contends that movements with deep community roots and extensive, cross-cutting interpersonal networks are better able to mobilize participants and more likely to succeed for the benefits of masses.
With capabilities and innovative applications evolving rapidly, both opportunities and risks of AI adoption for democracy movements are difficult to pin down.
Wiser democracy activists may take some AI technologies seriously though there are immense amounts of work to be done, as also decentralized innovation are happening everywhere. Done carefully, democracy movements that embrace AI can gain with its affordances while mitigating its critical vulnerabilities.
But AI technologies cannot replace social component of any movement building; there is no substitute for cultivating personal relationships. Over reliance on AI and other such tool-kits will have anti-social effects, undermining movement investments in pro-social coalition building. An over-fixation on AI adoption could rob democracy movements of its key sources of strength. Pledge to kiss your Smartphone and Nazi AI Apps everyday via Gov / NSG / NSA lips?
