Nov 19, 2014: Plans to reach 1200 students through this Children’s Day Campaign running from 14th November.

• To promote healthy brushing habits and oral hygiene in a fun and interactive way amongst children
Mumbai, 19th September: Indian Dental Association (IDA) in its endeavor to reach out to the children of the country and to inculcate healthy brushing habits and oral hygiene amongst them has launched the “Healthy Smile Happy Smile” campaign on the occasion of Children’s Day.

The aim of the campaign is to promote healthy brushing habits and oral hygiene in a fun and interactive way amongst the children so as to prevent cavity in them, as dental caries affects body weight, growth and quality of life in children. Children with untreated caries have significantly poorer oral health-related quality of life than children without caries. IDA is planning to reach 1200 students through this campaign, which started from 14th November.

Today at Smt. Kamla Mehta School For the Blind the children were checked and certified for their overall oral health and hygiene. Also IDA Mascot Dr. Strong Teeth shared with them the knowhow of correct brushing and how to maintain proper oral hygiene for a Healthy Smile and Happy Smile!

Dr. Ashok Dhoble, Hon’ble Secretary General, Indian Dental Association said, “I am delighted to announce that IDA has started an oral health movement in the form of National Oral Health Programme in the country to create awareness among people. The Healthy Smile, Happy Smile campaign aims to sustaining the billion smile of the country by securing the smile of the children who are future of our nation, by promoting healthy brushing habits and oral hygiene amongst them. We will carry out this campaign to rest of India. ”

Earlier IDA has organized a Healthy Smile Happy Smile camp at Wonder Kids, Byculla Branch where more than 300 children were checked for dental caries and overall oral health.
